Lemony Snicket's A Series of Unfortunate Events
This was a huge project with hundreds of photos taken over the course of 9 months of production. This shot shows a backing lifted up and another seaside set showing in the distance. The built "Crossroads" set which is on a 6 foot platform shows a little bit on the left. The scenic crew for this job was at least 12 people all working on various sets and in the studio. Production design, by Rick Heinrichs, called for set construction and backings for almost every shot. As far as I know, no actual locations were used in this show--just constructed sets on soundstages.
